The Museum of Modern Art of Paris presents, until the 11th of October, a body of works by American artist Henry Darger (1892-1973), making the spectator oscillate between enchantment and repulsion. A marginalized figure, the self-taught artist Darger remained throughout his life withdrawn from the art world. Nowadays he has become a key figure of art brut, with his work having influenced some notorious contemporary artists such as the Chapman brothers. Continue reading…
