Another fantastic exhibition of paintings! For his second solo show at Galerie Derouillon, artist Fabien Boitard invites us to contemplate his new works “Waiting for the serious things – to happen”.

Splashes, glazes and scrapings are embedded in a mysterious haziness and playfully straddle the border between abstraction and figuration, hovering over the canvases and evoking an enigmatic atmosphere of deserted characters, lost between dream and memory. Houses are on fire, yet water and fire mingle, amongst pots of splashed vermilion painting. We withdraw our gazes from Boitard’s worlds, left with some confusion, but wanting for more!
