Julien des Monstiers gives new life to the art of painting! This young artist – born in 1983 – mixes styles and shuffleboard. Going from figuration to abstraction with disconcerting ease, he draws inspiration from Classicism, Expressionism, Bad Painting and anything else that exists. His themes, borrowed from hunting scenes or tapestries, are all just a pretext for what he really wants to do – to paint. Des Monstiers seems to take great pleasure in constructing compositions made of overlays and extractions. Luckily for us, this pleasure is communicative: our gaze, a little disoriented, strolls between the imprints and colored layers, discovering corners full of great mastery combined with propitious accidents.

An exhibition not to be missed!
