Daniel Templon gallery presents, for the first time in its Parisian space, the works of German artist Franz Ackermann. The great colourist, born in 1963, today lives and works between Berlin, Karlsruhe and Istanbul. His monumental paintings with strong, flashy colours are taking over the venue located at rue Beaubourg. Echoing travel diaries or “mental maps”, each piece carries in itself the peculiarities of a great megalopolis.

Calcutta, Mexico, London, Istanbul, Paris or Hong Kong are bursting with colours and textures, reflecting urban buzz and the constant, unstoppable flux of people and news. The city of Paris is at the heart of the artist’s exhibition and a large installation welcomes the visitor evoking the nervous energy of the city, expressed through divided maps mixing photography, drawings, architecture and abstract painting.

A flamboyant exhibition!
